Giving Back... Together, we will make a difference
Bruce Urban, president of Western RV Country, has a very deep personal commitment to charitable causes and his loyalty is always directed to the ill or the less fortunate. Whether it be financial or emotional support Bruce always steps up to the plate. Perhaps the most noticeable aspect of the company's community is the Urban Legend, a monster truck which makes its rounds all over Alberta, putting smiles on the faces of many children. The purpose of this truck is to raise money for many worthwhile charities.
The most frequently sponsored charity has been the Children Cancer Foundation, along side with money raised for children with special needs and many other causes. The truck has been built with extra seats in the back to accommodate many happy little people. Even the adults care to indulge in the innocent need to be a kid again and eagerly get into the back as well for their ride for a cause. In the Christmas season, Western RV Country also sponsors a Hamper for a local needy family.
So many of us take things for granted at this time of year but we always must remember that there are many families who don't know how they're going to put food on the table, let alone holiday or Christmas gifts. It is a good feeling to make someone's holiday a little brighter and a whole lot less discouraging. From head shaving, to Monster truck fundraisers, to good old sponsored soap box derbys just for fun, Bruce is right there in the middle bringing smiles to peoples' faces.
